European School of Antennas

The European School of Antennas (ESoA) was founded in 2005 by a group of European Professors leaded by Prof. Maci of the University of Siena in the framework of the FP6 Network of Excellence “ACE - Antenna Centre of Excellence” [1]. ESoA has continued its activity in the triennium 2007-2009 within a Marie Curie Action (MCA) project coordinated by UNISI [2]. Presently, the group is composed by the 30 institutions These institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, that constitutes the statute of ESoA. The MoU states the “excellence of teaching” as a fundamental principle aiming the ESoA activity; it establishes the rules for composition of the ESoA board, and sets its competences concerned with the structuring, organization and management of the courses; furthermore, it defines common rules for the attribution and recognition of doctorate credits. The general objectives of the school are: 1 reinforcing the European excellence in antennas and propagations; 2 creating an effective advanced formative offer at international level to complete individual PhD curricula; 3 increasing the ties in research and development between Universities and Industries on a European scale; 4 facilitating the interchange of ideas among early-stage researchers and trainers as well as among young researchers, thus increasing the future mobility and synergy. The ESoA courses are distributed in the most accredited European research centres on Antennas and Propagation and can be chosen as a free course by the PhD students of our school
